Connecting Claude
This page walks you through connecting Claude to your Eythio data using the Model Context Protocol (MCP). The connection is a one-time setup. After it is done, Claude can read and update your work whenever you ask.
Step 1: Make sure MCP access is enabled
MCP access is controlled at the organization level. An organization administrator must turn it on before anyone can connect.
If you are an administrator, open Organization settings and enable MCP access. See Organization settings for where to find it. If you are not an administrator, ask one to enable it for you.
If access is not enabled, the sign-in step below will show a message explaining that MCP is disabled for your organization, and the connection will not complete.
Step 2: Add the connector in Claude
In Claude, add a new remote MCP connector and point it at your organization's Eythio MCP endpoint. Your administrator can give you the exact address — it ends in /mcp (for example, https://your-company.varai-sprints.example/mcp).
Step 3: Sign in with your account
The first time Claude uses the connection, you are taken to a Eythio sign-in screen.
- Sign in with your own Eythio email and password.
- The connection links to your account specifically. Claude will only see and change what your account is permitted to.
Once you sign in successfully, the connection is authorized and you are returned to Claude.
Step 4: Start asking
You are connected. Try a few requests to confirm it is working:
- "List my workspaces."
- "Summarize the current sprint."
- "Create a task called 'Write release notes' in my current sprint."
Claude will use the available tools behind the scenes and show you the results.
Staying secure
- Keep your sign-in private. The connection acts as you. Treat it like any other login.
- Disconnect when you are done if you no longer want the assistant to have access. Removing the connector in Claude ends its access right away.
- Access can be revoked. An administrator can turn off MCP access for the whole organization at any time, which immediately stops every connection.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to check |
|---|---|
| "MCP is disabled" message | Ask an administrator to enable MCP access in Organization settings. |
| Sign-in fails | Confirm you are using your Eythio credentials, not your AI assistant's account. |
| Assistant sees no data | Make sure your account is a member of at least one workspace. |
